課程特色

Aims 本科目標

1.  to provide every student of English with further opportunities for extending their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies, pleasure and work in the English medium;

 

2.  to enable every student to prepare for the changing socio-economic demands resulting from advances in information technology; these demands include the interpretation, use and production of materials for pleasure, study and work in the English medium.

 

School based programme 校本課程

1.      Space Town Literacy Programme KS1

 

This programme provides students with the opportunity to develop the ability to transfer their knowledge to new situations. In this programme, communicative language learning is the main focus, where the four skills are taught interactively and real-life situations are experienced in the classroom.

 

為優化學與教及配合課程發展的需要,本校參與由教育局英文課程發展組NET Section舉辦的小學識字計劃Space Town。本計劃除了提高學生的閱讀興趣外,亦發展學生的閱讀策略與延伸至寫作,並豐富學生的寫作經驗及技巧。

 

2.      P.2-3 School-based Phonics and Reading Programme校本英拼音及閱讀課程

 

Our school-based Phonics Programme is a 2-year programme mainly for P.2-3. We use Synthetic Phonics Approach. There are 2 lessons per week, one lesson will be a reading lesson. Pupils will read decodable books which help them to practice and transfer the skills from reading words in the worksheets to reading  books.

All phonics lessons are co-taught by Mr King and local English teachers.

 

引入英國的原音教學法,教授學生44個原音及基本拼音規則。由外籍英語老師及本地英語老師協作教學配合有趣的拼音圖書讓學生在兩年內掌握拼讀和拆解詞彙能力輕鬆自信地駕馭閱讀及擴大詞彙庫。

 

3.      P.1-6 School-based Writing Programme 校本寫作課程

 

By constructing mind maps and looking at pictures for writing, students can conceive and organize the main points of writing, enhance their confidence in writing, and build a sense of accomplishment. Together with activities that are diverse and relevant to life experiences, students' internal motivation and ability to learn English are further enhanced.

 

透過建構腦圖和看圖寫作,讓學生構思及組織寫作要點,提升學生在寫作方面的信心,從而建立成就感。再配合多元化及切合生活經歷的活動,進一步提升學生學習英文的內在動機和能力。

 

4.      NET Scheme

Good news!

A new Native English teacher will join Mr. King and Miss Rachel to be our third NET this year. This means that students have more chances to practice their speaking skills. Mr. King is responsible for lessons with junior form students. P1 students have 4 NET sessions every week. P2 and P3 students have 2 sessions each week. Miss Rachel is responsible for speaking lessons with senior form students. Moreover, Mr. King and Miss Rachel will have some after-school English Enhancement classes. Students can meet them even after school!

 

好消息!本校來年將有三位外籍教師在校,Mr. King會教授一至三年級的課堂,一年級每星期4堂,二至三年級每星期各2堂。Miss Rachel則會教授高年級Speaking為主。外籍教師更會在放學後教授課後英文加強班,讓學生加強英語學習。
